SAFETY ACADEMY

AND TRAINING

Tranemo Safety Academy is our training programme, where we train employees, customers and distributors in protective clothing and risk management. Through research, practical experience and training we help companies understand risks and choose the right protective solutions to create a safer working environment.

TRANEMO SAFETY ACADEMY

Our ambition is to share our experience and expertise in personal protective equipment (PPE) across a range of industries. Tranemo Safety Academy offers tailored training courses and expert advice on protection against workplace hazards including heat, flame, electric arc, molten metal, chemicals and explosions.

We bridge the gap between theory and practice

Knowledge management is one of the cornerstones of Tranemo’s corporate culture. We see it as our responsibility to drive research and innovation in order to provide the market with the best advice on protection against workplace hazards, such as heat, flame, electric arc, molten metal, chemicals and explosions.

Since 2007, we have brought together our expertise and safety initiatives under the name Tranemo Safety Academy. We offer tailored training courses for our customers, with the aim of developing, sharing and strengthening knowledge based on current safety regulations, industry requirements and our extensive experience within the textile industry.

TRAINING COURSES FOR DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES

According to occupational health and safety legislation, it is the employer’s responsibility to identify, analyse, eliminate and protect against the risk of injury at work. In other words, if an identified risk cannot be engineered away, the employer is legally obliged to ensure that the employee is protected against this risk. In this respect, personal protective equipment (PPE - Personal Protective Equipment), including protective clothing, plays a crucial role.

Within the EU, legislation on personal protective equipment is governed by the PPE Regulation (EU)2016/425. A general rule is that personal protective equipment must be used when risks cannot be avoided or sufficiently limited through technical means for collective protection or through measures, methods or procedures within the work organisation.

The purpose of these laws and regulations is of course to safeguard the individual – the person who goes to work must come home unharmed and safe.

By working purposefully and with determination, we can maintain our expertise and continue to be a leading player in our industry.

TRAINING AND COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT

To motivate and strengthen our team, Tranemo offers continuous relevant internal training that promotes professional competence. We also strive to create an inclusive culture, teamwork and open communication that leads to a sense of belonging and engagement among our employees.

Competence development covers several different areas, such as language, health, flame protection or ergonomics. A good example of a relevant training initiative is when all warehouse staff undergo training in ergonomics and safety, to ensure that lifting and work tasks are carried out correctly and in a healthy way.

Regular ergonomic training is crucial. Everyone knows how to lift correctly, but it is easy to fall back into bad habits.

We maintain our expertise

To ensure that we consistently live up to our core value as experts, and to reaffirm our commitment to being the most knowledgeable advisors on the market in flame-retardant clothing, the entire Tranemo Group meets online for internal training sessions once a month.

The courses end with a test to ensure that our employees have absorbed the new knowledge. Over the past year, we have carried out nine training sessions and together we have completed 288 hours of training within the framework of Tranemo Safety Academy. Project manager Cecilia Rydäng sees this investment as an important part of the company's competence development and emphasises that we must work hard and be determined to retain our core values and ensure that we remain a leader in our field.

Training for sustainability

Tranemo Safety Academy is also an important part of our sustainability work. Thanks to the training, we not only strengthen our internal knowledge management and increase competence, but also involve our customers in a continuous dialogue on workplace safety, rights protection and sustainable development. In addition, it strengthens our knowledge management and increases our expertise. Together with our customers, we can create a safer and more sustainable working environment.
